Present in over 90 countries across the globe, MEDLOG is one of the world’s most geographically diverse logistics and supply chain providers. Among its many solutions, the company offers high-capacity warehouses that provide storage for temperature-sensitive cargo.

In September, MEDLOG announced the opening of its newest cold chain facility in Savannah, United State (Georgia). This expansion strengthened the company’s worldwide network and marked a pivotal moment for United States protein exporters.

Central Position: Access, Connectivity and Growth

Strategically positioned near the well-connected Port of Savannah, MEDLOG’s new facility boosts the competitiveness of US suppliers through a faster, more reliable cold chain and efficient access to international markets.

The state-of-the-art complex covers an incredible 300,000 square feet, making it the largest facility of its kind in the US.  It is projected to deliver an economic impact of $65 million and generate over 100 jobs in Georgia.

Commenting at the opening, Chairman of MEDLOG, Giuseppe Prudente, said, “MEDLOG is a committed partner to America’s success, expanding our footprint to better connect US customers to rapidly growing markets. Today’s investment is the latest in a series of strategic infrastructure projects across the U.S. that enhance our unique ability to serve supply chain requirements.”

The expansive complex has been engineered to handle both large-scale frozen and chilled cargo with a capacity to store 20,000 freezer and cooler pallets at a time. Powered by solar energy and built for efficiency, the five-star energy-rated facility features eco-efficient refrigeration, advanced insulation and reduced energy loss.

The building is also strategically designed for maximum flexibility. Convertible storage zones can be altered to meet cargo temperature requirements as needed. The facility also supports inland rail distribution and has 42 loading docks capable of servicing large trade volumes and facilitating genuine multimodal transport.

What really sets the cutting-edge Savannah complex apart is its large-scale, blast-freezing capacity, which can process up to 3 million pounds of raw protein every 24 hours. This is three times faster than the current industry standard of 72 hours

With additional facilities set to open in strategic locations around the globe in 2026, MEDLOG investment and innovation is driving stronger, more sustainable and connected supply chains and creating new opportunities for suppliers in the US and beyond.

Chairman Prudente stated, “Combined with the world’s largest ocean liner, MEDLOG’s cold chain integrity and rapidly expanding multimodal transportation solutions are unrivaled.
