The Beginning of a New Chapter in Downtown Miami

Housed within the multi-use development Block 55 at Sawyer’s Walk, the MSC Group Cruise Division’s new, state-of-the-art headquarters spans the entire seventh floor and brings together over 400 team members from across MSC Group entities.

The 130,000-square-foot office space reflects the company’s $100 million direct investment and long-term commitment to reinforcing Miami’s role as a gateway to North America and a hub for cruising, trade and logistics.

The move is also expected to generate meaningful economic impact across the community.

An analysis by the Miami-Dade Beacon Council estimates that the headquarters will contribute $300 million annually in recurring direct economic impact and support an additional 1,500 jobs over the next three years, specifically benefiting the local economy within the hospitality, infrastructure and logistics sectors.

A Joint Vision for the Future of the Region

To celebrate the headquarters’ grand opening, MSC Group’s Cruise Division hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony, attended by Executive Chairman of the Cruise Division Pierfrancesco Vago, MSC Group leadership, and business and community partners. Local elected officials were also in attendance, including Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and City of Miami Mayor Eileen Higgins.

The event reflected the shared vision for Miami’s growth as a global hub for international business, logistics and cruise tourism, emphasizing the ongoing collaboration among the MSC Group, the City of Miami, Miami-Dade County, PortMiami, and key project and development partners.

During the ceremony, MSC Group and the City of Miami leaders spoke to the expected regional benefits of the new headquarters and the opportunities it will support across the local economy.

Mayor Daniella Levine Cava of Miami-Dade County stated: “I am thrilled to welcome MSC Group’s North American Cruise Division headquarters to Miami-Dade County, just a few miles from PortMiami—the Cruise Capital of the World® and Cargo Gateway of the Americas®. This exciting investment will create hundreds of new jobs, generate meaningful economic impact, and further strengthen Miami-Dade’s position as a global hub for cruise and cargo operations. It also reflects MSC Group’s confidence in our community and our shared commitment to building a more sustainable and resilient future. I’m proud to partner with MSC Group as they continue to grow and invest in our region.”

Rubén A. Rodríguez, CEO of MSC Group’s North America Cruise Division, said: “Our new North American Cruise Division headquarters reflects the scale of our ambitions for both MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys. By bringing our teams together under one roof, we are creating an environment that fosters collaboration, innovation and shared purpose as we continue expanding our footprint, deploying more ships, welcoming more guests and strengthening our presence across U.S. homeports.”

Eileen Higgins, Mayor of the City of Miami, shared: "MSC Group’s decision to establish its North American Cruise Division headquarters in Miami reflects the city’s unmatched position as a global gateway for trade, travel, and maritime commerce. The message is clear: We welcome global companies, encourage relocation and expansion, and foster an environment where innovation, collaboration, and prosperity can flourish."
